A member of the Executive Leadership Team, gives enterprise-level leadership, vision, and oversight to the Construction function at Aspen Group. The VP of Construction will help to shape the philosophy and structure for what that means in the Construction phases of our process and will lead the Construction team to high levels of collaboration across disciplines in the Pre-Construction phases as well.
The Vice President of Construction is responsible for leading and managing multiple project teams consisting of senior project managers, project managers, and superintendents to deliver exceptional results for our clients. Provides the leadership, philosophy, and management necessary to ensure Aspen Group has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow profitability and scalability to Vision 2025 in the Construction operations.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Partner in leading the organization. Serves Aspen by contributing strategic expertise on the leadership team. Represents not only Construction areas, but broadly contributes to corporate success through knowledge, skills and ideas. This is a counterpart role to our VP of Design and Integrated Services and will require strong collaboration and partnership together.
Leadership of construction function. Provide strategic leadership, direction, coaching, and mentoring to the construction team. Responsible for leading PMs to understand and manage project strategy and financials. Ensure construction operations are in compliance with our policies, safety program, and QA/QC program. Construction department budget and staffing management. Manage projects when the need arises.
Development of people. Engage current construction staff and attract new talent through individualized career growth, learning and development opportunities, and meaningful and challenging work that connects with each person's strengths.
Participate in consultant/partner/subcontractor relationships. Establish, develop, and nurture long-term relationships to ensure exceptional partner performance and manpower availability. Assist in evaluation and selection of subcontractors. Maintain and promote client and sub/vendor relations in construction and in post-project evaluations.
Lead the overall construction systems and processes. Provide direction on streamlining of current systems and processes for increased usability and organizational efficiency- particularly in relation to construction management software and project execution.
Evaluate opportunities for new business. Partner with Marketing, Business Development, and Project Development to enhance development of new business.
